A Pair of Egyptian Wall Hangings

A pair of wall hangings depicting scenes and characters after Ancient Egypt bas-reliefs. Cotton appliqué on a linen ground. These panels were made in the mid-1920s as tourist souvenirs, in the wake of the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922. Wonderful earthy colours.
