Having initially trained in film direction, the Serbian-born artist Mira Brtka then graduated in Fine Arts at the Academia di Belle Arti in Rome in 1964, the year when this abastract work was painted. In 1967, she joined the international art group ILLUMINATION set up by the Japanese artist Nobuya Abe and including Marcia Hafif, Aldo Schmid, Milena Cubrakovic and Paolo Patelli. She holds annual solo and group exhibitions in Serbia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary and Italy, and her work is represented in a number of public galleries in these countries.
